Watch for Large Patch This Fall

As temperatures begin to cool in Central Florida, keep an eye out for large patch, a fungal disease that commonly affects St. Augustinegrass and other warm-season lawns.

Large patch typically appears as circular areas of discolored grass that gradually expand, often with brown centers and darker or orange-colored edges. Fall’s cooler temperatures and damp conditions create an ideal environment for the fungus to develop.

If you notice suspicious patches, don’t wait for them to spread. TurfMaster can identify problem areas and apply fungicide where needed. Late October is an important time for preventive treatment in lawns with a history of the disease.

We can also recommend seasonal adjustments to watering, fertilization and other lawn-care practices that help make your turf less susceptible to future outbreaks.
